Elemental Dragon, Air: MR 60
The Elemental Dragons of Air are by far among the rarest species of dragons known, with the majority laying dormant in crystal form beneath the earth. When one of these crystal 'eggs' is left exposed to the element of air (which must also be outdoors) it will begin to hatch. After only an hour the young dragon will burst from the crystal, taking one of the shards to form its heart.
Elemental dragons of Air resemble traditional western dragons, possesing wings, legs, small arms and, majestic crests but are made entirely of air that mists insubstantually like smoke inside a crystal ball to give them form with lightning that darts and crackles across their bodies. When first hatched the young dragon will have only 1/10 of the MR of a fully matured adult and, will double in MR for each day it spends resting in the open air until it reaches the full MR of a mature dragon. The crystal egg is a huge Topaz worth 300GP and, the shard taken by the dragon will grow to this size again as the dragon matures.
If the dragon is ever slain the heart will fall from the ghostly body as it disperses into the ether, as an egg, ready to hatch within a days time unless it is covered, buried, thrown into a lake, smashed, etc.
Special Rules: Elemental Dragons of Air can be harmed only by magical weapons. Each point of air based magical damage dealt to an Elemental Dragon of Air will instead restore a lost point of MR but, not beyond its inital amount.
Spite: 1 / 1 Spite Damage. 2 / Regenerate 5MR (this can only be used out in the open). 3 / 1D6 lightning damage, reduces MR by 10.
Inteligence: High - Elemental Dragons of Air will fight intelligently (above the human average) and, if using it's lightning spite attack would kill it, it will instead use the other two.
Tactics: Elemental Dragons of Air prefer to swoop in for passing attacks if confronted with larger groups or tough opponents but, in a one-on-one fight they will press the fight until they feel they may be at risk of defeat. If this does occur they will fly off to recover in some safe and remote location.
